The endless heat and humidity have made it extra tough to train this summer. Sucking wind has taken on new meaning as it feels like every breath is through a straw. Gallons of sweat seep out of every pour making it look like we went for a swim rather than a run. Even the smallest hills feel like mountains.
But we dig deep to find the strength to lace up our shoes and complete our workouts. We shut out that voice in our head that says "can't", "won't" and "it's too hot". Instead, we convince ourselves to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Maybe slower than usual, but still, we move forward.
We know our efforts will pay dividends come fall. We know the sweet rewards of success and perseverance will be ours. We know we will have earned it.

Our friends from the Pure Barre studio in Blue Back Square are spicing-up our Fun Run this week with an extra dose of fitness. The fun begins and ends at the store, but mid-run, we'll meet-up with the Pure Barre instructors for a 10-15 minute core workout (total run distance will be ~2 miles). All ages and abilities welcome.
