Leave nothing on the course

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined. - Thoreau
|
You made a choice. A bold one at that. Several month ago you decided to train for the Columbus Marathon. For some, it would be another notch in your belt, albeit with a new set of goals for certain. For others, it would be the challenge of a lifetime.
No matter the choice, something drove you this point. To their point that you are staring down fewer than six days until you toe the starting line. It's terrifying. It's exciting. It's nerve wracking. It's emotional. It's everything...
You've imagined this days for weeks, and months... maybe years. No doubt each time you've imagined it some detail, large or small, has changed. It has evolved. Much like you have.
No matter where you started, you are now ready! You have adapted to the training. You have been beaten down. You have gotten back up, just to be pushed back down again. And yet, here you are. You. Are. Ready.
Race day is about you. It's about your journey. It's about the culmination of this endeavor that you've worked so hard for. Enjoy it. Harness all the energy around you this week. Bottle it up and hold onto it for dear life. You are ready, but you will need every ounce of energy you have to make that final push to the finish line.
Toe the starting line confidently. Run the early stages wisely. Run the middle sections courageously. Finish boldly. Dig deep. Find something. Leave nothing on the course.
I can't wait to see you at the finish line.
Jeff
