Holy smokes! It's December. The holidays are quickly passing us by, and a new season of MIT is upon us! We are excited about what the new year and a new season will bring. Change is the impetus of all we do at Marathoner In Training. Each season we strive to improve upon te previous, so change is constant with us. One thing remains the same; the mantra of MIT is; Change your life. One mile at a time. MIT has changed my life, and the lives of thousands who have taken the steps you are about to embark on. Embrace the journey you are beginning. It will change you forever. Friends will be made. Miles will be logged. Oh, and you'll complete your goal half or full marathon along the way! What you will remember years from now is the person you become. The change that you will go through both physically and mentally.
Thank you for choosing to train with us. We can't wait to see you out there!

Specific locations will be provided each week, along with a rolling schedule of upcoming locations. What schedule do I follow and where do I find it?
Nearly all of the race schedules have been posted and uploaded on trainwithmit.com Wait, I still can't decide what pace group to select!

That was a lot of information, but I feel like I could use some more... What else do I need to know?!
What does the Wednesday Workout look like? Beginning January 9th MIT will be hosting Wednesday Speed Workouts each week. Workouts start promptly at 6:30pm at Thomas Worthington at the track. ** If you are new to MIT or training to complete your FIRST full marathon, Jeff will help cater the workouts to your ability! With that being said, increasing mileage is tough as it is and we want you to do so enjoying running/walking. When you add intensity, your risk of injury, burnout and over-training increases. If you are unsure, e-mail your group lead and they can help you determine if Wednesdays are for you!
I'm still uncertain about my pace. Do I have to choose one right away?
MIT has 20 plus different "pace groups". The pace group is in place to allow you the opportunity to gain coaching support and guidance on a Saturday run. The support comes from both the Pace Coach as well as others in the group. You don't have to "declare" a pace group right away. Start with one that is closest to your long run pace and adjust if needed. Again, the physiology of endurance training says your long run pace should be at least a minute slower than your race pace. Read more about it here. Membership has it's privileges! MIT members receive 15% off all purchases, every day at all 3 Fleet Feet + FrontRunner stores. Plus, we hold occasional sales with deeper discounts! Yoga With Marcy
Each Sunday Marcy Freed hosts a $5 yoga class for MITers at FrontRunner Lane Ave. Class starts at 10am! Register for class here! I'm an annual member, so what about my jacket? Make sure that you log-in by the end of the day Friday, and edit your profile selecting your jacket size. They will be available at the January 5th workout!
