I have been fortunate to have running as a part of my life since I was an eight-year-old chasing my brother around our neighborhood as he was getting in shape for middle school track. Never would I have believed growing up that those days of chasing and racing around our neighborhood, and then onto tracks and cross country courses in high school that it would have the lasting effect on my life's path.
Thirty-two years later, I'm still running, my brother still runs, my parents run, my wife runs, and my three-year-old daughter asks if she can go run with me. And of course, there's each of you. Because of you I have a career I love, and I have opportunities to help people change their lives.
Somewhere along the way, I formed a relationship with Girls On The Run, a program which is dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
This coming Friday, we are hosting our 5th Annual Sneaker Soiree and Fashion Show benefitting Girls on the Run. Last year, we helped raise $31,000!
Girls on the Run never turns a girl away due to financial need. 58% of girls in Central Ohio can't afford the life-changing, self-esteem building program, but with your help we can make dent in changing that. All proceeds from Sneaker Soiree benefit girls in need right here in Central Ohio.
The event is this Friday at the Columbus Antheneum. Doors open at 6pm, with the fashion show beginning at 7pm. I invite you to join us as we help create opportunities for young girls, and empower them to become strong young women. Tickets can be purchased at SneakerSoiree.com! I hope to see you there!
Change your life. One mile at a time.
